In honor of President-elect Obama becoming President Obama, let’s look at what non-profits can take from his campaign. Contrary to your non-profit instincts, it doesn’t start with asking for money. Engage supporters, create a long tail, balance online and offline communication and give up some control. The money will follow.

Game on. For me, that’s one of the most memorable lines from the West Wing. What’s that got to do with social media? As I see it, there are more than enough so-called social media experts. I say enough talking. How about some doing? So, this is my new project — and I hope you’ll join me on this crazy adventure.
